| Q: | I've acquired a V18 and have been reading extensively about it and options for modding. One hit notes that the amp is class A/B rather than A, another poster confirmed the same opinion, is this true? I had considered either a dual rectifier mod or sag mod to this amp but apparently am heading down the wrong path. Also, any potential of installing a different output transformer with multiple ohm options? Last thing, hearing that the uf4007 with 1n bleeders might help the rectifier stage. | Q: | Hi Steve, I did some of your mods on my peavey classic 212: tone caps,od channel input mod, and the mods to the preamp board. After putting my amp back together, clean channel works fine -- lead channel is a whisper when absolutely dimed. I went back in twice and tried to troubleshoot for sketchy solder joints....
